Generally, Cosmo compiles sex tips and tricks for you from leading experts. This time its a little different and from their least expected it: from history, literature, and famous people who we never knew had an opinion on getting down and dirty.
Check out some of our favorites below:
1. Sex Should Be Fun – Around 1680, a book titled Aristotle’s Compleat Master-Piece mandated that both men and women enjoy sex. The text also stated that it was important for the girl to climax. Heck yes. If you and your guy aren’t having fun during sex, you’re not doing it right.
2. Orgasms Are Awesome – In the 19th century, doctors prescribed anxious women with one particular remedy: an orgasm. Whether they sent women home with their own personal vibrator to use on their own or induced orgasms themselves, doctors believed the cure for female “hysteria,” as they called it, was to simply blow off some sexual steam. What better way to turn a bad day around, right?
3. Sex Gets Better With Age – We didn’t expect founding father Benjamin Franklin to have so many opinions on sex, but the guy was actually known for being quite the colonial playboy (read: man whore). His passionate love affairs lead him to believe that older women are more fun in bed, proclaiming: “Regarding only what is below the girdle, it is impossible of two women to know an old from a young one … the pleasure of corporal enjoyment with an old woman is at least equal, and frequently superior, every knack being by practice capable of improvement.” Good info to know for the future.
